Howo use Google Cache as a backup engine...
Over on insanecats.com Catspaw shows a novel use of Google Cache as a "backup system" for her blog:
I quickly leapt into action and wrote a Python script to scrape the Google cache for as much data as possible. Of course, Google only allows you to find 1000 results per search, so I used some minor cleverness to do date-based searches and managed to pull down nearly all of the pages and comments, which was a huge relief.
It may not be foolproof, but its amazing how much cached content you could restore via Google Cache - at least, non walled-garden content that is...
