New riding record...

posted Saturday, 2 October 2004
Almost trippled the distance for my not-as-frequent as they should be rides today, 13.8km in approx. 45mins.

It also seems like I'll be remaining in this house after it sells, which is great as I won't need to pack anything, but it also means I'll remain close to these enjoyable cycling routes...

I was just rereading through some old forums and found a post I made to one of the cycling usenet groups at the beginning of last year and liked this followup from "RobertF":

Just remember this, Christipher Reaves would give all he has to be able to feel the pain you are feeling after riding a few miles. Do you think he would complain or stop riding? So just think how lucky we are to be able to work our bodies to the point of pain and exhaustion..
Whenever I'm out and feel the pain, I keep thinking back to this comment - I might not like the pain, but I sure as hell like the ability to feel that pain...
