Opeth - St James, Auckland
So Thursday night I saw Deep Purple and was left declaring it the best concert ever, only now I've seen Opeth - I'm at odds to say which was better than other. Purple had the best stage precense and showmanship hands down, but Opeth is on a completely different level musically than Purple so I'm tempted to say Opeth was the best METAL concert ever, with Purple being the best rock gig.
Before any one asks what the set list was I've pretty much forgotten it all - outside of openning with The Ghost of Perdition, and ending with The Leper Afinity and The Grand Conjuration, with Deliverance and Demon of the Fall as encore the rest of the set is already becoming a blur (mind you, I'm just as bad with remember song names as I am with remembering peoples names).
And now its time to head home, shower, and collapse.
