Diary of a Madman - Re: Steven Williams - diary excerpts

posted Sunday, 14 December 2003
Spotted in The Scroll of Emptiness, Malach links to Steven Williams diary excerpts, it seems weird reading these diary entries - they're brutal, honest, and somewhat more creepy than some of Clive Barkers darkest pieces. Is it wrong for me to want to keep reading what Steven writes in these journals? To follow his pain, his misery, his torment, and whereever it may lead? Part of me is thinking "it would be cool having prisonblogs.com, where inmates such as Steven write, and publish there diaries" - where we, as the public can get insite into what their going through. Some may take it as "extreme voyerism" - taking reality TV to a next level of sick twisted entertainment, but as blogs already give a public voice to those who know whats really happening, I think hearing "the inside scoop" of whats going on with prisoners may be a good thing. I don't want to get off on their torment, but it's gotta have a better effect than "hellfire and brimstone" on a Sunday mourning.
