Dead Power Supplies

...it was the night before Christmas and nothing was stirring, not mouse or PSU. An acrid smell of 'burn' wafted through the lounge accompanied by the loud whine of a dying PC.

As the realization of hardware failure started to set in I looked forlorn and saddened in the reflection of the LCD.

So now I'm faced with a question - cheaply replace the power supply again (will be the 4th PSU for this machine) or make that jump to getting the new machine I've been wanting for ages (MacBook most likely).

Maybe Santa will get me a new machine....
