The story comes off in a quite cheesy manner, but its also a serious topic that I've often seen talked about within the blogging world.

Annoyingly, google video screwed up the end of the video which offered the suggestion: "If you've got pictures on the internet and you want to keep them safe - set the resolution as low as possible and place a watermark such as SAMPLE or your website address over the image."

Update: As Zach just mentioned, the photo in question comes up in the FIRST line of a google photo search for pohutukawa's.

After taking the 4th photo like this I started thinking its time I got myself a tripod.

A quick look around the internet shows a varying range of models and prices, but I have no idea what I should be looking for, or avoiding.

Ideally I'm wanting something compact and light thats easy to pack and carry, but something that can get low, or higher up if need be (maybe I need two tripods here - a mini and a regular.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what brands to look for, or avoid? Priced preferably below NZ$100...

Whangarei Falls

Whilst at the falls a group of children were swimming and diving from the trees and swing rope, thou the youngest lad played up to the camera and demanding we take photos, he also refused to actually jump.

I wish I knew how to take better fireworks/night photos. There's some excellent photos of the new years fireworks display - but they seem to look ALOT better as thumbnails rather than full size images; they're just lacking a crispness I'd like ( and the nightshot photos tended to come out somewhat grainy ).

I've been thinking of checking out some photography night courses, but they seen to either target full on SLR cameras, or "this is a digital camera, this is a computer, click here" type things. I'm sure theres a decent one out there somewhre...
