Scoble make its sound like Twitter is something wonderful and revolutionary with instant news:

How did I find out about the Mexico City Earthquake? On Twitter. As soon as people started reporting it on Twitter, I looked at the USGS maps. The Twitterers beat the USGS by several minutes.

This sounds like the kind of news I've often seen spread by IRC over the last 13 years or so. Not having used twitter I'm not sure just how revolutionary it is - maybe it just takes things to the next level - from Internet Relay Chat to Instant Messaging to Twittering? Who knows.
