Mark Derricutt's Disturbing Thoughts

Tutira, Blade, and Klayton

posted Tuesday, 4 January 2005
  • Sunday afternoon I went up to Lake Tutira with mum/dad for a bit a nostalgic break in the country side, we used to come up here for fishing trips when I was younger - for the most part the area hasn't really changed alot, but the damage from the flooding and cyclones a few years back in clearly evident with some roadways now being 2m higher than they were, and masses of silt piling up everywhere to make new landforms.  I took plenty of photos which will be uploaded once I return to Auckland and can get flickr access.
  • Saw Blade: Trinity yesterday - totally kick arse, loved Ryan Reynolds character, but thought Parker Posey's was a little thin and weak for an evil overlord.
  • Even more exicting was hearing Celldweller's "Frozen" during the previews and finding Constantine - having heard reports of all the movies and tv spots Klayton's been getting lately is great, but hearing one of my favorite non-mainstream artists in the movie theater for a big movie is even better.  It's also somewhat ironic as I'd been blasting early Circle of Dust material on the iPod earlier in the day...
