SMS Jabber Transport
...so earlier in the week the subject of Instant Messaging came up around the office, I proceeded to declare my love of Jabber to my boss, and explained how we could do all that he wanted using Jabber, without any major messy fuss, so tonight I sat down and wrote myself a simple Jabber->SMS transport making use of the Marbles transport framework, and our own BulletinConnect SOAP SMS gateway. An hour or two later and its all working, running from my own jabber server running locally. You've just got to love open architectures. Now to work on the reply path of SMS replies back into Jabber, and handling presence notification and authorization for mobile phone users ( don't wanna get spammed now do we! ). I've got some ideas for other Jabber integration of our other applications, but will hopefully get the go-ahead from my employers to open the code and release it to the world on jabberstudio.org, but that will have to come later...

Would really appreciate if you could share the codes with me (for the SMS Jabber integration). I made the same promise to my Boss and I have been unable to deliver. I am sort of in a tight spot. Find below my E-mail address.

i'd like to see that, did it ever get released to the public? :)
sms-based IM'ng is really sweet on cellphones, much better than having to deal with WAP crap just for IM.. and it's persistent!
would be cool to see jabber SMS compatible, my carrier only offers icq via SMS

Hi:
I want to ask you if you'd released the "SMS replies back into Jabber" code as you mention in your blog. I'm looking for a solution that involves sending from Jabber2SMS and viceversa, i don't have a lot of money to buy or develop that kind of solution, so i'm willing to lease your app by event basis if it fulfills my needs. Please answer me via email with your comments and we can talk more about this subject. Thanks
